Salcedo Weekend Market

Last week, we tried to go into one of the famous weekend markets in the metro and that is in Salcedo Market in Makati City. Its my first time to be here and I find it as if its the expensive side of Banchetto. It has a very spacious place that lets visitors walk around to their hearts content. Also, aside from food, they also merchandise other things like kitchenwares, potted plants, and wooden specialties.
Anyway, we came here for food and alas we found the best. We purchased the Paella Negra and Paella Seafood at P280 each. We also went ahead and purchase the takoyaki balls and Tortang Giniling.

The yummiest of them all - Paella Negra

Seafood Paella

Japanese Takoyaki
The Paella Negra was my favorite of all. It was actually referred to me by one of my workmates as a must try in Salcedo Market and good thing I tried. Altough, it comes with a hefty price, it is still worth it. Its made basically of mixed rice with squid ink, sliced squids and shrimp. The seafood paella then is also a very tasty dish. It is a mixture of rice, seafood, pork and chicken. It is very loaded so its really heavy on the belly, anyway, it was really worth it. I was really full but we went ahead and ate the takoyaki balls and saved the Tortang giniling for lunch afterwards. There are more things/food to try out there and I am pretty sure that we will be back soon.

Something Fishy Restaurant - Eastwood

If you are craving for lots and lots of food but your on a low budget, the best place to go is at Something Fishy in Eastwood Place in Quezon City. For just a minimal fee of $120, you can already eat all you can within the served buffet. This eat-all-you-can meals can be availed in the morning so its the best place for us, working in night shifts, to eat after a hard days work. They serve almost all the usual breakfast meals like tocino, longganisa, sweet ham, hotdog, eggs, etc. They also serve chicken and beef noodle soup. Plus, if you're not yet full enough after all those meals, you can grab a dessert which is my most favorite part. You can have all pancakes, kutsinta, palitaw, etc as much as you want.

I would recommend this restaurant especially for large groups. Have fun!

The Priest Movie Review

Today marks our 5th monthsary and my hubby gave me a gift, a mango chiffon cake which is so yummy. After that, we decided to watch a movie and it is The Priest. The movie is in 3d by the way.

The story lacks some depth but overall is a good movie to watch. The fighting scenes are superb and very keen in details. I loved the scene where Maggie Q (she is very awesome here by the way) took over the familiars. The range of weaponrys used are really good. I'm not sure though if there will be a 2nd movie after this since they have not defeated yet the real threat which is the vampire queen. I think they should create a 2nd movie so they can provide more depth on this story.

After the movie, my hubby treated me as well for a facial and diamond peel. So happy! :)

Tuna Bacon Crepe

I just made a try out of one of my favorite crepes - the Tuna Bacon Crepe. You can usually buy this one on crepe stands but the best one and inexpensive is in Banchetto. Anyway, I tried to make one on my own. So, I made use of hotcake mix, tuna, bacon, lite mayo and pepper.

It really tasted so good! I forgot though to add whole kernel corn and some cabbage. Probably, I'll try this again this weekend. TIP: tuna can be tasteless sometimes especially when combined with bacon so try to stir fry your tuna first and add some seasoning to enhance its flavor. Try it! :)
